Futurebuild® Laminated Veneer Lumber (more commonly known as LVL) is an engineered wood product made from layers of wood veneer. A precise manufacturing process laminates together the layers of veneer, with heat, pressure and glue. The detailed methodology of LVL production results in products with high structural reliability and performance, and consistent dimensional accuracy. The wood veneer is sourced from sustainably-grown New Zealand Radiata Pine logs. As a natural building material, wood is a superior sustainable solution, a greener alternative to more fossil-fuel-intensive materials such as aluminium, concrete and steel, and in many cases instrumental in the delivery of buildings that are beyond carbon neutral. Futurebuild LVL is a New Zealand made product, manufactured in Marsden Point (FSC Marsden Point LVL Mill - FSC-C011498). FSC certified timber can be supplied if requested. Available in a wide range of sizes, Futurebuild LVL is customised to create high value products for residential, commercial, formwork and scaffolding applications. Common uses include lintels, beams, rafters, floor joists, and studs. Futurebuild LVL is available in longer lengths than sawn timber, off the shelf up to 13.2m long, and can bear greater loads over wider spans, making it a very cost-effective solution. The Futurebuild range of LVL products is supported by a range of free software solutions for architects, engineers and builders with an in-house technical support team of architects and engineers.
